Our aim is to provide appropriate clothing alongside a network of support and career development tools, so women can thrive in work and life. We are proud to have supported over 7,000 local women since 2003.
Dress for Success Christchurch is a registered charity founded in 2003 by our Patron, Penny Aitken. We are Canterbury focused and work collaboratively with local organisations to make a real difference for women in need in our region.
Thanks to the ongoing support of volunteers, sponsors, community trusts, business partners and individual donors, Dress for Success Christchurch is community funded. This amazing support sustains our organisation and enables great things to happen. There are seven Dress for Success affiliates around the country forming a New Zealand Alliance.

"I was the grateful recipient of an interview outfit after a dressing appointment this morning (at 10am on the 2nd of April). I arrived slightly late, very flustered and embarrassed, after getting myself lost on the way to you. I hate to be late and was very conscious that it didn't make a great first impression, but your volunteers were so kind and gracious as I pulled myself together. I usually hate shopping and trying on clothes, and was very self-conscious about being dressed, but the stylists were so kind and dedicated to finding me an appropriate outfit. They pulled together some amazing clothes that are perfect for me, with coordinated colours and a flattering fit. My next step is to get a haircut with the discount voucher provided and then I feel that I will be ready for anything, stepping out in my new boots with confidence! Thank you again for your time and generosity, it is very much appreciated."

She’s been going through a really rough time and has been working hard on getting her feet back under her, constantly job hunting, interviewing and carrying the weight of financial insecurity. It was so beautiful to see her absolutely beaming and hear how your staff took care of her. She felt so special and spoilt and was overwhelmed with the generosity. She’s actually just accepted a job offer and was so relieved she won’t need to worry about buying work clothes because she just wouldn’t have had the capacity to do so right now.
